Open Source CPN , Mexico - Pacific Coast

Can anyone recommend a good source for charts i can use w/ Opensource CPN. I'm looking for Pac. coast Mexico and Sea of Cortez and Central America.

I'm new to this, but after loading some NOAA charts and plugging in a $35 GPS puck, I'm sold.

Also, a good AIS to interface ? I was considering Miltech Marine black box for around $150 .

Insights of experienced users appreciated !

Opencpn has a project to convert NGA charts to KAP/BSB. Go to
NGA Charts Upload Files at OpenCPN.info (English)
You will need to register to download charts.
