Open CPN update failed in Ubuntu

I have Open CPN on a laptop running Ubuntu 12.04. When I try to install the automatic update I get a notification that "the untrusted package" cannot be installed. Has anybody else had this issue?
I have to add that I am pretty new to Linux/ Ubuntu.
Any ideas welcome!

Or apt - How to bypass/remove/disable the untrusted package authentication - Ask Ubuntu - It comes with less words and more juice.
To make it even shorter, you are most likely missing the PPA repository keys, so do

sudo apt-key adv --recv-key --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com C865EB40 9C18FD9F
