New Grib Presentation

Here is a new version of the merged new_grib and grib_enhancements plugins by Sean and Jean that should fix the small horizontal scroll bar bug and give you better access to the grib file name. Please take the kml off and put it in your plugins directory.

Jean has continued development of his original plugin New_Grib which may be posted and attached next.

Jean, I am glad you ask. The one above is the grib used with Weather_routing_pi which was git from seandepagnier/grib_enhancement.

This afternoon I was going to git your version of New_grib, compile, quick test and upload, which one should I use ptizef/new_grib or pitizef/grib_from_seandepagnier?

The current GRIBs at this link are excellent and can be displayed in either ViewFax or Expedition LT.

But they aren't displayed in the OpenCPN GRIB plugin.

Can this be made to happen? Would be of great benefit when planning a passage.

I had been looking into this website because it offers Monthly Average Gribs which can be used as "Pilot Gribs" for routing long voyages at certain times of year.

Also, I thought I had downloads of OSCAR Gribs - currents and those are running ok in Grib_pi. --No now I recall... these are image files and can be viewed in Weatherfax_pi I believe.... not as useful, but helpful.

Do you mean the grib from svsarana email query?

I can not get this to display with grib_pi in opencpn, zygrib, or qtvlm. What open source grib program can open them?

Yes, that's the link I referenced. And I could not get them to display with grib_pi, hence my posting.

You can display them in ViewFax (Airmail weather fax) or better in ExpeditionLT (http://www.mediafire.com/?6saza28p4ad2250).

..hm ??? Standard O 3.2 displays OSCAR..., at least for me.
I'm not so lucky with the development versions....

Don't know where you obtained your OSCAR file

It's not well displayed in O3.2 but much better in ExpeditionLT and also in ViewFax as shown below.

here .dll file to windows users and the .mo file for the French translation.
This translation has certainly some words not translated, but is usable.
I will complete it as soon as possible
