This only happens when there is no GPS signals.
i don't understand what you mean, the WPT are stored in the Routemanager, it's not nessesary to calculate them.
the plugin uses the waypoints (route) from OCPN, and the mainprg. fires a event to the plugin. It doesn't care if GPS is on or off.

BTW have you checked 'if waypoint arrived' in Options ?
create a dummy-route with 3 waypoints
activate the route
place your boat at a avtive waypoint.
the logbook shows the arrival.

konni

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

konni..

If you create a dummy route of 3 wp´s after the GPS has ceased to function and enter a new course and speed in LogBook,it automatically shows the next total sailed distance but you have to enter the arrival lat/lon manually. The waypoint still exist in the dummy route so why not show it in the LogBook? There could also be an input for course/speed correction owing to wind/current. To perfect the DR function,a start button for a moving SIMULATION could also be included.

Little attention is paid to the establishing of position by visual bearings these days.
This is another option which is sadly lacking and could easily be implemented and could be a saving where all other means are lacking.

Hi Tore,

all you wrote above, is NOT a task for a logbook.

DR has to be done in the mainprg, this is the boss of all data.
imagine when a plugin could change a position of the boat in the mainprg and another plugin does thesame with (maybe)different data, confusing is the result. (a 'jumping' boat in the display)

so the mainprg. has to do the job of positioning the boat, not a logbook.

when you add a line without GPS and you get (in the future) from the
mainprg. the own ship position, corrected by wind/current-triangle, then you'll have your desired entry.

i don't implement this calculations/function in the logbook.

best regards,
konni

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello Pascal,

do you mean with 'new layer' you want to create a new layout ?

to do so, select odt and a layout in the drop-down-box, click the (E)dit-button, select in the dialog 'edit layout', click ok.
this opens the template with the #placeholders#.
save this template with a different name e.g my_layout.odt (IMPORTANT !!!).
hit the (R)eload button.
Now you can change/delete as you like my_layout.odt, but please don't alter the [[ (or {{)and ]] (or }}) surrrounding the table.
the placeholders prepended with a 'L' (#LCOG#) are the Labels, without are the data (#COG#).
a hit on view (with my_layout selected in the drow-down) shows your changes.
to see what placeholder is for which field, open the original layout for viewing.

for html you need a html-editor (kompozer is a free one) and set the path to the kompozer in options/path 'Path to HTML-Editor'.
the '<!--Repeat -->' and '<!--Repeat End--> are equal to [[ ]] and are needed for repeating the table.

in the moment i'm writing on a help (german), which explains this procedure with some images.
i hope it's finished at the end of the week. even if you don't understand german it should explain on the images everything (odt and html).
the english version takes a bit more time.

best regards,
konni

after downloading the plugin, open dolphin, go to your download-folder, click on Terminal and insert in the console this line:

sudo cp liblogbookkonni_amd64_pi16_v10_pi.so /usr/local/lib/opencpn/

this works for all plugins, when you change the name of the plugin.

best regards,
konni

it's the datamanger on KDE, on Gnome it's a different datamanger.
but the procedure is the same.

alternativ you can open a terminal without a to open the datamanger,
but then you have to type the 'bandworm' of your download-path
before the plugin-name.

e,g. sudo cp /home/your_personal_folder/Downloads/pluginname /usr/local/lib/opencpn/

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello,

i've uploaded a video which shows how to create a new HTMl-Layout
with the free HTML-Edtor KompoZer for Logbook 1.0.
it shows e.g how to implement images in a Layout.
To follow the video download and install a help-file for the images.

Re: Logbook Konni for OpenCPN

Hello,

Just installed OpenCPN 3.0 Tried to install the Koni Logbook as well. For the time being I have two Opencpn installation, 2.5 as well. During the install of logbook 1.0 on Windows 7, I changed the installation directory to OpenCPN 3.0 however, looking in the plugin tab afterwards, the logbook neither Findit (which I also installed) did show up.

Am I overlooking something?

Best regards, and sure keep up the good work!
