Garmin Radar PlugIn Version 1.4 Released

Folks...

Thanks to the continuing efforts of Charles Skerry, we have a new version of the Garmin radar overlay PlugIn for OpenCPN.

In Charles' words:

New features:

1. Use NMEA-SENTENCES to acquire true heading values at any HZ. Tested with 5 HZ HDG from the AP.

2. Store the heading with each scan packet.

3. Use stored heading to align display for each packet.

These improvements provide a stable display when the boat heading is changing.

4. Change the display rendering from using scan byte values to using scan bits. This provides a sharper and more detailed display.

5. Improve rotated vp rendering.

Great work, Charles. This version provides a meaningful improvement in appearance, performance, and usability to the GRadar PlugIn.

Source is available at:
https://github.com/bdbcat/gradar_pi

A prebuilt Windows binary is attached, adorned as usual.

Thanks again, Chuck.

Good luck to testers.

Please describe your installation with a little more detail.

1. Is the switch in the cable installed?

2. Have you set up the address on your interface connection? Please post a screenshot.

Read through the old posts. Others have been down this road.

Good luck

Chuck
