Garmin GPS

My Garmin GPSmap76CSx does not work with the new update. It would on the previous version. I chose the '/dev/cu.Bluetooth-PDA-Sync'.... on the GPS panel in CPN, but it does not recognize the 76CSx. My Garmin Roadmap software reads the receiver, so I assume I have the correct driver installed for my IMAC.
Any help would be appreciated.Thanx

It is always helpful to specify you environment when asking about issues like this:

- What update? We could guess 3.0 but that is just a guess....
- Running under what OS? /dev/.... sounds like Linux but which one (distro + version)? And does the 76CSx really have a Bluetooth interface...?
- Any GPS related errors/warnings in your log-file?

Re: Garmin GPS

My apologies..
CPN version 3.0.0
Mac 10.6.8
The 76CSx is connected by USB
The options in my CPN for GPS are:
a)/dev/cu.Bluetooth-PDA-Sync
b)Network LIBGPS
c)Network GPSD
d)AIS Port (Shared)
I again apologize...for not knowing anything about a log-file

Thank You JesperWE

Re: Garmin GPS

OK, OSX is outside my scope, but still, check your log file.
Click the "?" in the toolbar, look for logfile location int the About tab.
Open logfile and check towards the end for GPS related messages.
Now over to the OSX savvy people around here...

Re: Garmin GPS

Mark,

make a "ls /dev/cu*" in the terminal window and look for a serial port entry.
If your GPS device is connected via USB it should have a serial port and no Bluetooth. Enter the complete name in the OCPN options for GPS by hand if you cannot choose it there.
