hi,
just registered and having problems with opencpn ( new beta and previous version) it will not load/display the CM93/2 chart file. worked fine with the previous version but then the program crashed and i had to restart. since then i cannot load the charts. i have tried a backup copy of the chart since i thought it might have been corrupted by the crash, but no luck. any suggestions?
cheers Gerd, Daedalus too, Penang

Problems with CM93 charts on v2.1

Gerd, if/when you get up to Langkawi I'll take a look & help you sort it out. We're anchored off Kuah & will probably be here through Xmas.

With me it works fine under Windows XP Sp3 and Vista (all versions of OCPN and the CM92 ed2 set). So it must be your system set up.

Your crash could have created a corrupt chart database. Find and delete the opencpn.ini (win) or opencpn.conf (Linux) file, and delete it.
Next time you start no chart are installed, and you have to start all over again.

More instructions here: Location of Important Files. Log and config files.

Good Luck.

The dashboard works very easy so try it again (just switch it ON in the settings)
Alternatively try PolarCom (see download section on OCPN)

The Problem is, i do not have a Plugin tab on my OpenCPN, I downloaded the new 2.2 version, but can not find anyway to access the dashboard,I i go the open CPN download page for Plugins, it says they are (coming soon), no plugin download tab. How do i get the plugin tab on my OpenCpn Nav Program?

Thank You

The dashboard plugin is included in base OpenCPN (as is the grib plugin). You can enable it in the ToolBox: open the ToolBox then go to the PlugIns tab, click the Dashboard line and two buttons will appear : Preferences and Enable. Enable it then go to Preferences to choose what instrument you want to see and you're done.

Well, I'm confused, we're not talking about the same version. OpenCPN 2.3.0 was released yesterday. You're probably using a beta, please upgrade :-) You'll find exactly what you're looking for with the instructions above ;-)

Select the TOOLBOX (the button with the wrench on it) and then PLUGINS.
Dubbleclick the Dasboard and/or Gribb plugin

good luck

Open CPN 2.3

I have downloaded version 2.3 but when i install and try to open it up i get

D: Program Files\ open Cpn\open cpn.exe
This program has failed to start because the Application Configuration is incorrect Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

I reinstalled it a bunch of times, to no success. anybody have any ideas it does the same thing with Matrix Mariner when i downloaded it.
They both work fine on my home Computer but my boat computer does not work, any body have any ideas

Thanks
