Re: KA LUNK

Zeehag, it appears that you and Sailorchic are starting a new trend for lady yachties. Art nuveau engine colors - no more blue perkins, green volvos, red westerbekes, grey yanmars. Although, being an engineer, I thought Sailorchic would have color schemed her systems - yellow for fuel system, blue for cooling system, grey for exhaust system....

Ahhh, Dear Zee, Sorry its happened. Sorry for your loss. We are all at an age now where these things happen.
I remember it just a few years ago when everyone was getting married and everything was fun and lightness. Everything was a party as new kids arrived and people grew up, settled down. But when was the coin flipped? Suddenly friends go into hospital and come out crying, some can't walk up steps and, some, like your Bro, are already dying.

I feel for ya

We gotta live now, for this moment in time, and drive our dreams so we can be the ones who escape. We are the winners who take every obstacle to our cruising and surmount it.

Glad to see your engine is nearly fixed and your freedom isn't far away.

Fly away for him.

Why Mark, sometimes you surprise me -- nicely said, and agreed with.

As an aging cruiser, I cherish each day. We can't do all the things we used to do, but we can still enjoy the things we are capable of, and enjoy reminiscing about our bolder times.

We've lost some good friends already, and know that it is a part of life, but it still hurts. So, Zee, sail on, but keep the memory alive.

Re: KA LUNK

When we are very young we get pushed around in a stroller. When we are very old we get pushed around in a wheelchair. The in between bits we just get pushed around by life. The best bits are when you are not being pushed and neither are you doing the pushing. Have as many of those as you can.

Re: KA LUNK

thankyou for the words when i was mourning bro .. he didnt want to be a burden. he wasnt. he wanted to sail. he lost allmemories as to dates of occurrences, my birthday , etc. he figgered it was time. his spirit is still as huge as it was alive.
and so some of him is in a box in my main saloon
his spirit is sailing with me when i leave here for mazatlan in about three weeks time--spot will be reactivated and onward ever upward.
we just have to ffind a racor.. i found a small one, i had a perfect one that was destroyed by the person i had hired for 18 months. he managed to cross thread it and ruin a perectly good racor filter. wanna kill......
we now have 2 banks of 4 each 6 volt deep cycle golfcartbatts and a 12 v starter..cranker.
i also have solar and 2 windmills to generate trisities.. who hoo they are sooo noisey good!!!
i have a backup starter..was from my 107 before i had 108 installed.. and my old unrebuildable original blue tarter was rebult by chebio in cihuatlan. whoot.
have a backup alternator
i cannot say enough about chebio the electrician from cihuatlan, and sr luis diaz, el maestro de diesels, and the work done on my engine here.
there is no reason for anyone here to be wallet raped for engine work.
find maestro diaz via segundino in the marina office or via valentin who is with the cooperativa de pescadores. everyone knows maestro diaz. everyone here knows chebio.
there is no reason any longer for gringos to overpay for engine work or be bullied into buying a hard to find parts for yanmar in this used to be a desert for repairing...
and now a racor .....yet again.....mebbe i should buy stock...

oh yes and i have 6 wax toilet rings...... just in case.
the gps is dark screen, the depth flashes and fish finder croaked totally.. good thing i been there beforee..oh yeah and my radio killed itself.. what fun. so i has another radio .. i has a flashlite, and i has a prayer to all the neptunes and poseidons and celts and everyone everywhere that we willbe fine, which we prolly will.
we gonna be out in mid may.
that part is the hard part.
but we should have good breezes for the adventure.

hoping they dont have names until later in may.
did i say i am gonna reactivate spot tracker for this ???

Re: KA LUNK

we are currently modding the racor water separator filter that was damaged by previous alleged helper i paid...lol and so we re repair and so forth.. onward and upward.
as for the alleged assist that damaged more than he repaired--i cannot recommend his work.
beware of who you hire to help do important work. they may not be qualified to do many of he repairs you hope to effect. and watch every step of their progress

Re: KA LUNK

do not hesitate to install your racors.
without em you WILL suffer co sequences.
dammit.
i am currently re rebuilding two fuel pumps before departure to mazatlan for repairing entire boat

seems a former wannqbe haha ha helper was more trouble than worth... took spring out of lift pump causing fuel leak, as well as other lil wonderful acts of sabotage preventing my planned death run to repairville. not happy, but, now i THINK i have found all the sabo efforts.
this has taken all my time since june 2015
