YouTube Video Camera ?

I have a video camera on my list of desired toys, but most on the market look to be designed to show high quality on a TV.

The end result may be great, but the time and computer power to edit is beyond me.

I'd like a something designed to upload short videos to YouTube, preferably with some good editing software included.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Go Pro is THE best video camera for outdoor filming - compact, HD, easy to use, easy to upload. We use it sailing, snorkeling, blokarting, skiing etc. We even attach it to a PVC pipe and hang it below a kite where it becomes the ideal aerial cameraman, always following us and always aimed at us. Sometimes we stick it on our heads and just leave it taking a photo every 5 seconds while on some outings. Afterwards we choose the best 10 photos from the 1000s taken during the day and delete the rest.

I seriously want one of the go pro cameras. Amazing thing is the extreme wide angle. Like 135 degrees that's similar to what your eyes see. Makes it like you're there.

If you buy two and a special housing, you can shoot in 3D!

Re: YouTube Video Camera?

Whatever you do, dont get a Sony. Sony uses a proprietary format that virtually no (except sony vegas, which handles the video excruciatingly slowly) video editing application will support it. Though I must admit the quality is absolutely amazing on my Handycam.

I'm not sure what's out these days, but I bought a Flip Mino HD which handles 720p is acceptable quality, but handles motion rather poorly. On the plus side it is a simple, straight-forward, and extremely compact camcorder. You just hit the record button and go.

I can only speak from experience of what I have. I'm willing to bet the camcorder jimbo is talking about is much better. Camcorders get outdated pretty quickly.
