Most Popular Video Messaging for Sailors?

I have done some searching....seems that skype has limited service.

I'm not sure what you mean by limited. Skype seems to have become the standard among many people for voice and video calling. It works anywhere there's an Internet connection, and the protocols seem to be fairly reliable/robust.

For Mac users, iChat also has very good video quality.

skype seems to be good most places today and free if both ends have it ,-when i lived in china 6-7 years ago it was yahoo that worked then

Skype or Google Video are the best options avail. Google Video is accessible to anyone with an internet connection, and the installation of a very quick browser plugin. Skype on the other hand is a complete application, which not only does video, but phone / communications where Google Video / Chat falls short.

We use Skype.

The internet phone bit is fine plkus it also has the pay for use ability so we do not have to buy a phone card in each country.
Calling home with a short skype caall to a mobile then they can turn the computer on.

It took us a long time to get it and we are quite pleased with it.
