HF Tuner compatability

Does anyone know if a Codan 9103 Antenna tuner (for HF of course) would be compatible with other brands of HF Tx/Rx units?
Or are the branded units only designed to accept signals from transceivers/tuning heads of their own particular makes?

Re: HF Tuner compatability

Some HF autotuners, like the SGC tuners and the SEA tuners, can be used with just about any radio. They have RF sensing circuits to detect the frequency, and will automatically adjust for best SWR.

Others, like the Icom tuners, are made to work with "control" cables which communicate with the transceivers directly.

I don't know about the Codan's....never seen one.

But, who knows what might happen down under? Heck, even the toilet water circulates in the wrong direction :-)

It'll work fine with whatever transceiver you hook to it...LL

Are you sure about that? The data sheet for the 9103 says it has both RF and control cables, implying that it needs control signals from the transceiver -- like the Icom tuners.

Re: HF Tuner compatability

I think the Icom tuners can be used with non icom radios right?
