Fluxgate Compass Question

I just bought a new fluxgate compass Raymarine and when I hold it in my hand and move it or shake it something appears to be freely rolling around inside.
The compass is basically sealed and find this to be a bit unusual.

Re: Fluxgate compass question

It's suppose to 'rattle'.

Yes it will rattle if shaken, it's the gimbled fluxgate compass. I wouldn't shake it to much because you will probably damage it
