EPIRB

Any thoughts and suggestions on the purchase of an EPIRB for a 47 ft sailboat used between Florida and the southern Bahamas.

Looking for advice on Make Model and type of EPIRB. Money always matters however I want something that works if as and when it is needed.

I’d pick one with a very long battery replacement interval, with a built in GPS, and I don’t think my next one I will pay extra for the auto release cover.

Sorry, not up enough on which ones have the longest battery life, but that is what usually trips you having to buy the next one, so next time I’m going for battery life.

I think they all work well and are reliable, but know of no tests that determine failure ratio.

Agree w/the long battery life (10 yrs?) and also a battery you can change yourself when/if it needs to be replaced.
May sure you register it after purchase.
