B&G Zeus upgrade to v18.3 broke WiFi GoFree

Yes, the internal wifi broadcasts NMEA data, just take care to enter the correct IP address.

Installed 18.3 today, and all other B&G recommended software updates, and it killed my GoFree. B&G agreed to replace it under warranty.

Spent the better part of the day trying to get the system running correctly again. H5000 Autopilot controllers have gone dark. Lost the Volvo Penta gateway connection. Radio GPS connection was lost, since restored.

The reset process lost all my custom screens..

These B&G software updates are treacherous. System was working well (2 years since last software update) and now I have a project on my hands getting back to a stable system set up the way I liked. Hopefully a call back with the H5000 desk in a few days for help getting my autopilot controls back up.

One would think this didn’t have to be so tricky.

You have my deepest support as I endured your ordeal a few years ago with v18.3 how is it that it can be available? B and G KNOWS it is bad junk. They replaced my wifi router thingamabob that 18.3 fried. If anyone reading this has a 800 tech support number that knows these issues please share it. Bryon, Bella Sirena, Puerto Vallarta
I LOVE B and G when it works and am scared all to hell to upload any new upgrade software, that is nuts and not right.
