Recommendations for insurance

Hi All ... closing in on a 2007 Catalina 350 to purchase. Primary use and location is the Pamlico sound area .. ie east coast of North Carolina. Question is if anyone can recommend an insurance company as well as rates. I am currently looking for options now. I have a clean record. Have checked USBoat/Geico and got an online quote for around 1450/year. I have been out of touch for a few years but that seemed a tad high to me hence querying this knowledgable crowd !!! thank you ... Dennis

Try IMIS - cost depends on what you are going to do with the boat. and where you are going to spend hurricane season.

I've got Progressive on my boat but have had that insurance on my cars and trucks for years. No hassle online service as "my agent" is 50 miles away.

Chuckr pretty well nailed it, were the boat is stored, how you use it and where you go with it all factor in.
