New Coast Guard Vessel ?

I think our Coast Guard (and perhaps our Navy) should have a few of these vessels.

OCEAN EAGLE 43 is an ocean patrol trimaran combining a very slender hull with two small floats enabling the required stability.
This combination reduces the fuel expenditure, increases speed and autonomy, while insuring a good level of comfort even in moderate to rough sea co

Green peace had a similar looking ship but smaller. Didn't end well for it though...

Actually those pirates sunk the boat themselves to manufacture an incident. It did collide with a Japanese whaler but had plenty of reserve and stayed float. The crazy green pirates then had a falling out with the boat owner.

Awesome boat! Thanks for sharing the video clip, which I enjoyed watching.

I was impressed by the wave piercing smoothness of the vessel despite high speed and sea state. The minimal pitch is very impressive (see numbers on video). WOW!

With that minimal pitch and high speed, it does look like a good platform for a forward gun and use as a coastal patrol vessel.

I also think it is interesting to see the helipad too.

When I first saw the boat, the profile (without amas) reminded me of the Dashew FPB line.

Yah - Endurance and power for electric doodads is probably a higher priority. Stick a pair of Oerlikons and call it a day.

How often does the CG interdict anything? Do they really need heavy weapons?
