Re: Kids In the Cruisers & Sailing Photo Gallery - Is It Just Me?

What a "safe" thread

If one is sane one should never ask a parent a question like "hey do you have any cute pics of your kids"...this is what you get....

Laundry Day

Turtles on St. Helena

Bath day mid south atlanti

Daddy cant trim for ****

must....stop....posting....pics.......

That was my intention. My last 3 threads that I started generated over 700 posts, but boy did they get off topic and the flame guns were drawn. This topic is about as safe as you can get. BTW, great pictures and on topic, what more could an OP on CF ask for.

Hi Deckofficer, I just had to chip in here. Our daughter Liz moved onboard in '98 at age 9. She is now 23 and is a Deck Officer on Yachts. I have not done an age progression set on her, but I am very tempted to do so. She has made us incredibly proud parents, and continues to do so.

There are thousands of photos of us cruising on our web page (in the signature below) but she also has an online Resume, where, under "Work Photos" there is indeed a sort of Age Progression, from us victualling for six months prior to our first tx Atlantic, right up to last year.

If youre interested it located at, http://seakin.com/gilana/liz/

Regards, Proud Dad!

If your familiar with the ease of PhotoBucket (and free), you could easily post to the age progression thread I started here......

http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...res-75584.html

If you don't have a fast Internet connection (i.e., cruising like we all should be) or your not comfy with file transfers and re-posting, ask me and I'll help, or do it for you.

I just checked the link you provided, what a stunner! If I was in the position of having to crew a corporate mega yacht and read that resume, seeing her licensees, professionalism, and her fitness, my only question to her would be "What position do you want?"

Thank you for that very much. I've started a few threads that went the wrong direction (wasn't my intention), this one, as foolishsailor stated is "safe". Good to see it get traction vs some of the flame thrower threads.

Re: Kids In the Cruisers & Sailing Photo Gallery - Is It Just Me?

A few years ago, I joined a friend for a weekend' s sailing who had his grandchildren aboard age somewhere between 9 and 11.

See here a carbon copy of Laura Dekker. This girl (I forgot her name) was around 10 or 11. Could handle the boat (heavy Suncoast 40) even in windy conditions. I was completely astonished by the girl's dedication and strong will.
About the same but in a lesser grade for her two brothers. The girl was quite remarkable.

And like all Dutch kids, natural sailors and speak perfect English as a second language.

atoll, we posted at the same time, so I need to jump back in. You have to explain the first picture where the lipstick was being applied. It is scanned, and old, so was that you?

Frank
Frank,

Us cruisers have all been neighbors but in different time frames. I lived on San Juan Island around early 90's.
