Re: Hurricane forecast for summer'14

Why do they even bother with this forecast? They don't have a real clue.
Maybe they should say instead "we are way overdue for a big one, be care full".

Ummmm they do have a clue.
Looks like El Nino this year and that should bring things down to a dull roar.

Read the whole document. Very interesting stuff. There will be an update June 2

At the risk of sounding like a grump.... The number of storms doesn't matter.

A bad hurricane season is when you get hit.

A good hurricane season is when someone else gets hit.

Just takes one storm to screw things up...

Well, what about last year for example? What were there, maybe small 2 storms in the Carrib? You are right, they have "clues" but that's it.

Believe it or not but they stated almost exactly that in their forecast

"Despite the quiet forecast, coastal residents are reminded that it only takes one hurricane making landfall to make it an active season for them. They are reminded to prepare the same for every season, regardless of how much or how little activity is predicted."
