Marine Surveyor Recommendation in Seattle ?

This is my first post here and I hope this is the correct forum. After moving to the Puget Sound area this past year, i am looking to move up from my 22' sailboat to a monohull racer/cruiser in the 29' to 32' range. My budget dictates that any candidate will likely be around a 1980 to 1990s vintage.

Primarily, I am looking for recommendations for a marine surveyor in the Seattle area. i'd also be interested in recommendations for an engine and rigging surveyor, although I assume a good general marine surveyor would point me to the latter if needed.

Finally, any recommendations on a good yard? I'm on Bainbridge.

Thanks - and Happy New Year!

Yes, it's a good idea to go with a SAMS or NAMS surveyor... just check up on them first. I picked the closest surveyor (on the lists on these websites) to where the boat was and went with them. The day we did the survey we had -10 celcius weather (north of Seattle) which is cold for this time of year. It was quite apparent he didn't want to be there out in the cold and I think the survey reflected it. Not one thing particularly bad or missed, just minimal effort.

Thanks - i actually found a past thread (should have done a more thorough search) on just this topic, in which there were several specific recommendations.

Wondering what you came up with for surveyors in the Puget Sound, Port Townsend area??? I may need a surveyor for a fiberglass motorsailer. What kind of cost and who do you recommend?

Sorry I haven't checked in lately. I ended up using someone from Seattle who was mentioned in a previous thread. However, i would not use them again so i can't recommend anyone at this point.
