Caribe C9 or L9?

I'm about to replace my Caribe RIB with a slightly smaller and preferably much lighter dinghy to hang on my davits. Has anyone experience or opinions about the Caribe "lights" , L-series? Thanks, Aythya crew

My friend has the 9 foot Caribe light dinghy with the abbreviated keel and the only drawback he has found is that it is a little more skittish at high speed than my old heavy full keel double floor 9ft Caribe.It is much easier on the davits and I intend on replacing mine with the light model when the time comes.

I have the one with the short keel and want to get rid of it. I find I can't use it without someone else in the front to weigh it down and get some grip from the keel.

Exactly, it's hard to make a turn even. But on the other hand, if total weight must be decreased, there's not much choice.... We have a C12 and love it's handling and dry rides. I was almost ready to buy the light aluminium AB which tracks well even when alone but it takes off on all but a mirror-calm surface.

Just bought a new Walker Bay Genesis...they applied 'intelligent design' to the dinghy. Vastly superior to anything I have owned previously.

I currently have a Caribe C9X [ I think w/ box locker] and when time to replace will probably go with an AB 10 light or whatever they call it these days. The fixed the big issue which was it did not have a flat floor which it now does and it has significantly more room inside for stuff like dive gear and groceries.
