Tell Me About The Glimmer Glass

When transiting the East US Coast we have sometimes entered the New Jersey Manasquan Inlet and then passed through the disturbing current of the Point Pleasant Canal in order to anchor in the Metedeconk River. What about the place off to the north inside this inlet called the Glimmer Glass? I heard that there was suitable anchoring space in there. What's it like? Does anyone have some local knowledge and opinions to share about this place?

Re: Tell Me About The Glimmer Glass

CaptForce,
You may find it useful to look at activecaptain.com for local reviews and comments, navigation info, etc on the Glimmer Glass. I have found that website to be a great complement to this and other forums. It is not a discussion forum, but a useful source of info from those who have been there. I am planning a trip south from Maine and what I have just read about the spot isn't encouraging for my 5' draft.
