Nauticalchartsonline.com ???

Has anyone purchased charts from Nautical Charts Online Nautical Charts Online - Instant Access to More than 4000 Nautical Charts

They are offering free shipping so started to place an order but got a warning message that the security certificate did not match the web site address.

So is this a safe company to deal with? Is that just some kind of internet glitch or is it possible their site was hacked or is the whole thing a scam?

Thanks

I've ordered from then before, never had a security problem. Got all the charts I wanted.... might be a glitch, most credit cards company's are pretty good about fraud protection too...

I was very happy with Frugal Navigator; high quality print-on-demand charts, on very rugged paper, among the best prices around, very good service. No connection, just a satisfied customer.

Thanks. Thought about the credit card protection but still hate to get into a hassle with a fraud claim.

Thanks. I checked their web site but couldn't find the chart I was looking for. It is a bit esoteric, NGA 17 great circle routes for the north Atlantic. Will save the site and try them again for something a little less obscure.

Skip -

I manage the marketing for nauticalchartsonline.com. Sorry you had a problem. This is likely related to the web site address. In the future, if you use “www,” you should be able to avoid any complications.

Secondly, the site does have the NGA 17 chart you referenced. I would post a link to it, but I don't want to break the rules of this forum.

Thanks for your interest.

Re: Nauticalchartsonline.com ???

Hi Jene,

I see this is your first post or maybe you've been lurking for a while without joining in. In either case, welcome and thanks for the information.

Didn't notice if I used www or not. I originally found the site with google search and clicked the link which I assume would include the full address but cannot recall at the moment how I connected to place the order.

Regardless, I took the big risk and ordered even though I had received the warning and have been waiting for all my money to all transfer to the account of some Nigerian prince.

Feel much better now I have heard from a real human being. The free shipping offer was nice thank you. Maybe I'll buy a few more.

So anyone else looking for charts. Free shipping from www.nauticalchartsonline.com until the end of the year.

PS
Just got an email that my shipment is on the way.

Thanks Jene. Would enjoy the charts more if my boat was back in the water and I could actually use them.

Soon I think.

Stay warm. Looks like snow in MN tonight.
