Hello Dan,

many thanks for your help. The link to imagecfg.exe was broken when I tried it but Google found several other sources. I have since received a modified file which has also cured the problem, but imagecfg.exe will no doubt come in handy for other software that is not 100% compatible with duo core processors.

This is a great site to seek help. I am so glad I joined.

Regards

After I looked around, I would recommend WinAFC over imagecfg.

I'm glad you joined, too! Welcome to the zoo.

MaxSea11 CrashFix Download?

If you let me know your email address I will send you the correct fix.
Hello Eugene,

Is there a place to download the fix? I have a dual core Acer Aspire One, but WinAFC seems to be rather complicated and I think I just might destroy things...

My eMail address is MoiraYeh @ gmail.com (without the spaces of course ;-)

I'd be grateful, if you could eMail me the fix, as I seem to be unable to uninstall MaxSea11. It doesn't show up in the "Add or Remove Programs" list in WinXP and there doesn't seem to be an unistall program in the folder either.

G'Day all,

From the original poster: thank you all for the expert advice. I appreciate the expertise and the time that you took to reply to my query, and I'm sorry that I've been so long in posting this.

I did find the perfect solution to my problem: Uninstall MaxSea, install OpenCPN. I really didn't need 300+ mb of bells and whistles, and am very happy with OCPN. Seems to work without fussing around with the system, and to be pretty reliable so far. Time will tell! And it is good to not be using software of uncertain provenance, too!

Cheers,

Thanks. I have OpenCPN already, but I prefer MaxSea and I am still looking for the fix.

Re: MaxSea v 11 Crashing Problems

Having watched OpenCPN develope I have now switched to it asmy main Nav Prog. Apart from t's ease of use it handles my AIS better than Maxsea which makes single handed sleeping a breeze with it's excellent alarms. It's so ideal that I have even donated towards it's development.

Thank you to all the authors who made it possible.
