Lagoon 450 (Next Life) damaged in the Exuma, The Bahamas

Well here we go again. There's an almost identical boat wrecked in the Bahamas. Is that a 440?

Wrecked Catarmaran being Salvaged | Bahamas Chatter

The Lagoon 450 catamaran Next Life that wrecked on the reef between Fowl Cay and Guana Cay, Exuma, Bahamas has been towed out of the area. The boat had been reported to have been attempting to enter Elizabeth Harbour along a route shown on Navionics electronic charts. It has also been reported that the nine-month-old boat has been declared a total loss. The photo shows the salvage crew dewatering one of the hulls with the continuous reef between Fowl and Guana Cays in the background.

Wow! And it's a new 440, and a total loss.

His boat was a 450, he did lot's of improvements to it and posted on this Forum often.
He did the crossing in extremely good time with i understand a great crew aboard. A heart rending thing to now have happened i'm sure every body here would agree.

How do you know thats him? I talked with him before he went to get the boat. I hope you are wrong. If not, I'm sick for the poor fellow.

Have a look at the photo it has the large 'Bimini' canvas over the helm, the name is the same and the boat's age the same.
440's were not made 9 months ago.

I hope i'm wrong...

He had some solar panels mounted to the rear of the hard top. I don't see any on this boat. I am calling you wrong and feel good about it. No offense.

My bad after looking closer, I can't see the end of the hard top. You might be right but I hope not. He is from just a few hours from where I live...Tragic.

Yes his panels mounted above the davits so you won't see them at this angle. From memory he built a Brownish/sandal Bimini that used the existing mounts without cutting the boat, i've tried to find it in the library but to no avail.
Yes i hope i'm wrong but i gotta say that Bimini in the picture is familiar.

It is indeed familiar. I really hope you are wrong but even if you are, that is a really sad situation. I chartered a 450 in the BVI's this December and got a first hand look at the 450 in Nanny Cay marina that this threat is about. Not good.
