Jarrett Bay and Gallants Channel in Beaufort, NC

Has anyone navigated through Gallants Channel in Beaufort, NC in the past couple years? We are considering going here next year with our boat. Due to our mast height (75' off the water) we would need to go through the drawbridge and sail up Gallants Channel. So we're wondering about the depth there.

Also, has anyone ever had any work done or kept a boat at Jarrett Bay there? Any input will be appreciated.

Re: Jarrett Bay and Gallants Channel in Beaufort, NC

We came through Gallants Channel and Russell Slough to and from Beaufort around Halloween this year as we traveled from Oriental. I kept my eye on the depth meter and saw no less than 10 feet of water. Be sure to follow Russell Slough to the ICW, and not Gallants Channel to the ICW. It was well marked. When we headed north back to Oriental, the bridge tender did tell me we were headed in the wrong direction (north), as everyone else that time of the year was heading south. Some of us still have to work. lol
