I like the beep for short runs. But 24 hours a day for 2 days would be a little much.

As far as North America, I think once I get much over a terabyte, I'll probably slow down a little. I only have 2tb on the boat...

Here is the kml file to produce the charts. It will produce about 60 charts. It goes from Livingston to Lake Izabal.

I have just created GE charts for all the marinas and mooring places in Angra dos Reis area in the Baia Grande. I have also created GE charts for the major islands in Baia Grande. (Actually there are 365 but I only did the most important ones)

GE2KAP worked a treat....

GE2KAP V9.1.0 was just uploaded to: www.gdayii.ca

These are the enhancements/fixes to this release:

1. Fixed the KML support for very large polygons and paths.

2. Added a delay slider to put a delay between the time GE2KAP positions Goggle earth and when it creates the chart. This is to give Google earth time to load the image if your Internet connection is slow. See attachment.

3. Automatic Google earth restart support: after creating about 60 charts Google earth will slowdown. GE2KAP will detect this slowdown and automatically restart Google earth.

4. Directory update detetection: At startup GE2KAP will to try to write to the directory it resides in, if it can't it will inform the user that GE2KAP should be reinstalled in another directory. This was implemented because you cannot install GE2KAP in the "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)" directory under Win 7 and Vista because you need special permissionto make updates in these directories.

5. Capability to turn off the beep after creating a chart if it annoys you.

6. Added README and Lisezmoi html files to get to the Help file so you can see how to install GE2KAP after unzipping it.

Hi Paul,

I am with Ubuntu 11.04 and Virtualbox. I used Ge2kap thus since his beginning without any problem.

But now, I don't know why, with last version (9.1.0), ooRexx-4.0.1.i586.exe and Google Earth 6.1, I never succeeded in creating a chart.
All what I get when I click on "voir" is the screen-shot of my explorer and some parts of Ge2kap , like the picture.

I have uninstalled all and then installed following your help files for installation and configuration, but it is the same.

Here is Ge2kap.log :

When you press "Créer la carte", do you see the Google earth window come to the foreground?

Also, after it says it created the chart, don't exit GE2KAP and go to:
C:\tempGEKAP\ and double-click on
temp_Get_Calibration_geimage.bmp
does it have the same picture as as you show above or does it have a picture of Google Earth?

Do you know what version of GE2KAP did work?

Google Earth window is coming well from the background and when I go to C:\tempGEKAP\temp_Get_Calibration_geimage.bmp the picture is the same as I have post.

I don't keep all the versions of Ge2kap, but I have found and old one which was working fine, V3.4.4, and I am nearly sure that I have used Ge2kap in June, with the last version I had found on the net.

All the versions which were working were versions with ImageMagick, bsb2tif.exe, tif2bsb.exe, convert.exe, Google Earth V5..., etc.
I am sure that I never use the new versions without those dependences.

I will try to install again V3.4.4, but I have no more Google Earth V5.... and I tell you.

Also, using the new version, after it says the chart is created, what does the screen look like? Can you take a snapshot of the whole screen after it has created a chart, with GE2KAP in the foreground and whatever is in the background

It is working with Ge2kap v3.4.4, ImageMagick-6.6.3-0-Q16-windows-dll.exe, convert.exe, bsb2tif.exe, tif2bsb.exe and Google Earth 6.1

I try again with the new version but I am sure it will not work and I will post the snapshot.

I have tried again with the new version and it doesn't work. The problem is that when I try to take a snapshot (alt+print screen) with the Ge2kap window after it says "Successfully created" and Google Earth, I never succeed to take the snapshot. I get only Ge2kap window and white screen in background.
I have installed a special soft to take snashot, but it is the same. And when I try to take a snapshot only of Google Earth, I get a white screen.

Well suppose that is also why GE2KAP can't take a snapshot of Google earth.

I'm not sure why, I suppose it has something to with runiing in the Linux Virtual box.

Any linux experts out there have any ideas?

BTW it works in the Mac virtual box or whatever its called.
