florida gulf coast wind for southern passage

hey yall, the wind forecasts look bleak, SSE or SSwesterlies for the next week, at around 7mph and what looks like doldrums at night. Can anyone help out with what to expect further offshore than the reports seen on weather.com? Leaving the panhandle south to marathon next week sometime, or when the breeze changes. Same info for marathon bimini would be helpful thanks. If this continues may have to go through the Ockechobee waterway.

We often don't have much wind here in the summertime. That's just the reality of west coast sailing. But you also have to be prepared for pop up thunderstorms, which occasionally can be severe. So you need to have a variety of sails. On many days you will need a very big headsail, but be ready to swap out for a much smaller one if you see a storm coming to you.
