Stained Sail - Help!

So over the last seasons storage of my sails, it seems that a mouse or something got into the sail bag that was in storage. Fortunately, no damage was done to the sail itself, but the mouse - in all his mousy wisdom- left quite a little stain to my sail. I would assume that it is urine stains from the mouse-nest that was bunched between the folded sail.

I am tried to lightly clean the sail, but the stain is just not coming out.
So, before I try some other means, does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could use to clean the sail? Or do you think that the ammonia-induced stain will forever be in my mainsail?

Thanks ahead of time!

Sometimes the rust stain remover Whink will take out stains that seem permanent. Just make sure to wash with a soap solution quickly after applying to neutralise. If its going to work the stain will start fading seconds after applying.

There is an outfit in Pensylvania called "sail care" that washes and re resins sails. I asked for a quote to do the main for my gramp 26 and I believe the price was .90 a square foot. If you google them you can read up on their process.

If Whink dosen't work you might want to consider
Nature's Miracle, Just for Cats, Stain & Odor remover.
Works great on urine & all other cat stains. Not
sure about Mouse stains ............
It's an enzyme type cleaner found at most any pet
store. Good luck.

Master sailmaker Dan Neri in his book "The Complete Guide to Sail Care & Repair" recommends 3M’s "5200" throughout the book for sail repair.

I have used a Product made by 4U Products. It is a Concentrate cleaner that can be mixed in different ratios with basic tap water....
Sail Cleaning on its list of uses. 1 part to 32 parts water. I found it made the sails whiter & did not hurt the sail performance.
Availible at most RV Dealers. I prefer Brycam Enterpises in Barrie. That is very close to you. Give them a call 705-725-1371....
As a side note....if you spill red wine on your favorite tan shorts...& dont realise till the next morning. This product gets Two thumbs up.....cleaned up better than new.
