It's not that long ago that there was a topic here about mast climbing unaided. I wrote a long spiel about how to do it using climbing techniques and gear.
Don't use a bosuns chair, sit slings work well and can be strung together out of anything if needs be.
And don't Jumar up your halyard, you will knacker it. Tie a spare piece of rope to it and Jumar up that.

Nope, I've personally seen this exact situation twice before. Luckily they were small boats (25' range) and we all played cowboy and eventually lassoed them. It was a fun party game when it's not your boat or camera.

Most marinas that have storage will have a fork lift or some other lifting device. Ask them to go up and get it for you. I had a situation recently where my lazy jack line came down. The marina I had stopped at lifted someone up and didn't even charge me.
