Goiot 363 furler disassembly

I found the similar parts breakdown and assembly instructions in French (thanks Gord) but can anyone tell me in English about how to disassemble and lubricate/replace the bearings? The lower unit has become quite difficult to turn.

I just sprayed loads of WD 40 on mine, cleaned and lubricated it. If you want to remove the lower bearing you'll have to take the foil off the forestay.

WD40 is a poor lubricant.

Does anyone have any directions for disassembly?
And should the bearings get waterproof grease or are they greaseless bearings (unlikely for an old unit).

Ok, don't use wd40, sounds like you know better than the manufacturer.

Re: Goiot 363 furler disassembly

I have a customer with a 1986 Beneteau. I believe had this furler or possibly an older model. Link to manual?

Boat has been in storage and not sailed for perhaps 10 years. Furler is free turning, but need to replace the stay.

Cheers,
Jeff

I agree salt build up wd40 is not the lubricant but it will remove salt and the bind up wash it with wd40 let it dry the apply your choice of water proof grease or oil. Unless you can soak in vinegar then I prefer the fine spray of wd40 or penetrene You will need to slowly and patiently work the mechanism till it's like new.
