Watermaker

Would anybody have experience on the costs associated with rebuilding a small Spectra 12 volt watermaker.

I am looking at a boat which has a water maker and have no idea of the costs associated with a complete service.

I understand there is a very broad range of possibilities. Maybe the best worst and most likely outcome. I would want it fully operational and don't need any surprises.

Thanks

Re: Watermaker

I've rebuilt two Spectra watermakers.

Rebuild Clark pump $450 to have Spectra factory do the job (but I think it costs more now)

New membrane $200

New low pressure pump $500

New filters $10 each

Presto... you have a new watermaker!

I have never met Tellie, so I'm not sure.
But do any of us, actually? Isn't this whole cruising thing, just a little AB normal?

I only own two, and down to one skiff on the power side...so just a bit less lucid? [emoji6]

I think Tellie only owns one sail, so maybe more lucid than both of us?

Even though Katadyn is part of Spectra I usually don't work on many 35e systems but I'll check tomorrow on their availability and get back to you.

PS, I'm quite lucid I'll have you know.

Dazed and confused on the other hand is another story altogether.
