Re: tankless hot water taps

The “Hey Presto” HW Tap requires 10A @ 240V (2400W) electric service, which is pretty substantial for a boat off shore power.

We installed a propane on demand works great!!! Cost under 200 very efficient on propane. Ours in a forward vented compartment though I have seen them mounted in the head before.

Re: tankless hot water taps

Ive read some reports saying the propane ones are not so safe, I don't know why tho! if properly installed, and vented they work super!! Ive had them a bunch ! one I installed on our Colvin Schooner, soon after launch, it was still working 20 yrs later when we sold the boat !! One thing to remember if your In COLD country and your water is COLD when it go's into the heater it May not get as warm as you might want !!LOL Ive forgotten the range but if the waters 35 36 degrees, it wont be warm enough to shower!! don't ask Connie about this LOL but they really work great !! If I have to replace one on my new boat I will sure look at one again ! just my 2 cents
