Access A/C on Mainship 34 Trawler

The main cabin A/C unit -below the settee on the port side - appears to be enclosed in fiberglass--I cannot figure out how to get at the unit to service it. Any ideas?

If someone installed it, ya should be able to un-install it !! it has to have bolts ,screws, clamps ect to hold it in place ! look it over good and don't be afraid to do what ya have to do to service it! And maybe a manual to help would be a good Idea!! Im sure there are some out there ! Do you have any idea what brand it is ?? that would help !! Don't get upset YET !! LOL theres always a way to fix stuff if ya look, think and go for it !! thats always worked for me !!

The old glassed over hatch ploy, eh? That leaves you with one of two choices; 1. Unglass it, 2. Make a new hatch.

Is it a thin layer of resin over the hatch? Can you see the screws? If so tapping around the old hatch with a chisel shuld break it loose, then use a hammer to tap in a screwdriver into screw heads should break through enough to unscrew. Mine wasn't glassed, just painted, and I had to do the same thing.

If it is more severe than that there may ba a hatch underneath, or from the engine room, (it may be behind insulation, or foil/foam).

If you can post pictures of as many sides directions, as you can.

Oh one other thing, my A/C wouldn't fit through the hatch after I got it off. I had to remove the entire settee top.

Is there a large vent in front of the settee? If you remove vent, ducting, etc... you may be able to pull AC unit through the vent opening. Is under or bhind the setee accessable?
