Need Help - Mustang 2800

Hello everyone, I'm new here.

I grew up sailing dinghies, but I;m new to powerboats and there is a lot I don't know.

I have a Series II Mustang 2800.

I have two questions for enyone who knows this craft:
1) Where would the circuit breaker for the Muir anchor winch be hiding?
2) Does anyone have a handbook/manual for this boat that I could photocopy somehow? Happy to pay for your trouble.

Thanks!

Sydney,

For openers, I had never heard of or seen a Mustang 2800 until I found some photos on Google.com just now. In general you know the windlass breaker will be located between a battery and the windlass. The breaker may be located on the breaker panel, otherwise you may have to trace the wires from the windlass back to the battery. When I retrofitted my 28 cruiser with a windlass, the breaker was located on the cabin side of the engine room bulkhead.

Regarding the boat manual question, it may be a different situation in AU, but most boats come with component manuals, i.e. engine, electronics, plumbing, etc. No overall manual like you would get in an automobile. The most valuable information in my view would be a complete wiring diagram. Very often you have to make your own. As boats age and owners change, electrical devices are added and removed and the old wires are generally left dangling.

Hi Sydney Mustang,
I know an ex dealer principle here in Fremantle if you haven't had any joy?
He knew these boats backwards before they went out of production.
Let me know if I can help
Cheers

I have a 2002 Series 2 and it has a separate breaker on the panel for the winch as per attached picture.

Re: Need Help - Mustang 2800

Thanks, I sorted this out in the end. I won't explain, but needless to say I was rather embarrassed after I had someone come out to look at it. An expensive exercise, but I will try harder to fix it myself next time.

Now does anyone have a manual I could copy please?

Prepared to pay $100 for a photocopy of the thing! Series II or III Mustang 2800 please.

HI Aussie Riv 47, I've just bought a Mustang 2800 and am looking for some technical help in particular how to drain the waste water tank. Could you ask your ex dealer contact for me or pass me his contact details please?

Thanks,

Pete
