Insurance Problem for Canadian Boat in Europe

Fun Fun ... well not really..

We are gearing up to leave Europe to return to the Caribe and eventually back to Canada. Pantaenius, who covered us for over 20 years has cancelled our insurance (they no longer insure Canadian or American registered vessels) and at present we are covered with by our house insurer. As we are leaving the waters covered by our insurance company we now need to find a new insurer.. We have been declined by one insurer as they will not cover Canadian Boats ( or American) and we are now searching for a company to cover us.

Vessel Age 52 years ( S&S Swan 40)
The boat and I have been together for 25 years during which we have done 3 Atlantic crossings, one single handed. I have made no claims during that period. Rigging is new and the boat is in excellent condition.

Try Western financial group Victoria BC 1-855-656 2668. We had the same problem in the UK and Ireland. No one would insure us. Called the above and we're still insured with them. funny or not so funny the actual insurance is with an English company. Go figure.
