And this was after he had completed a double circumnavigation of 48,510 nm in 419 days (& 22 hours 10 minutes). This one in a S&S 34 ala JW

The exuberance of youth...I'm sure she will be quite ready to get off the boat once around...but it wont be long before she has itchy feet and is ready for the next challenge to be sure.

The moderators have decided that the "Jessica Fail" and the "Jessica Succeed" threads have served their useful purpose.

Jessica Watson is now a fellow sailor on a challenging and exciting journey. It's time to stop debating whether she should be out there. The fact is that she is out there.

A new thread has been created to discuss the sailing aspects of her journey.

Jessica Watson's RTW Journey

Thanks again for your community spirit and lively and respectful debate.

mt gay rum - your tracking posts are interesting and useful. Please use the new thread to keep us all updated.

To many others in this thread I encourage you to continue the sailing discussion in the new thread.
