There are not a lot of whales left. Some are harder to find than others but all are important. Much more important in the grand scheme of things (the natural environment and food chain) than either you, I or the vast majority of the human race. That is not a joke.
Obviously it's futile. The same people that think the earth is ours to destroy will happily dump their spent oil overboard and not think twice.

We just have to realize there are some really awful human beings in this world. Just means the rest of us have to step up our game in order to have a planet for our children to enjoy.

the Chinese will ruin the earth, no matter how many times you dump in oil, diesel, or whatever. NIMBY is all America is about. do you have a cell phone? congrats, your destroying the ocean, PC, same thing, tv... if you actually knew what they dump into the ocean to make this junk.....
