Is there a sailing course that crosses the Atlantic?

If so when and how much?

There used to be one from Gibraltar. Something like zero to hero, RYA or thereabouts. Google and you will find.

Maybe the RYA school gave up on their Gibraltar to West Indies event.

It was called Fast Track and I read about it in one of British magazines, possibly back in 2007 or thereabout.

Email RYA and ask support. If the course is still there, they will send you to the right agency.

Alternatively, buy a sailboat and learn by doing.

You can't do the YM just doing long passage. ( and actually you learn little on a trans Atlantic) the rules were changed to ensure candidates had several , often many voyages maki g up the 3000 miles.

Anyway all the tricky stuff happens of coastal trips. They're the ones that sort the men from the boys. Tides, lights and shapes , night entrances to ports etc.

Since there was no specific requirement for RYA sorts of training, I seem to remember that John Neal (Mahina Sailing IIRC) does long ocean passages with student crews.

He's been in the biz for a long time and has lots of supporters.
