Truth in advertising mandates that "Cheez Whiz" be spelled with a z.

There is nothing about Cheese in Cheez Whiz -

Well, they have the boat jacked up on I beams and will be towing it out instead of pulling it back out to sea. Someone else took the pic. That's 2 boats in one month (the other being the Shannon grounding in Oregon Inlet).

Apparently he wasn't insured and signed the boat away to get it off. Nice looking boat, it's up for bids.

Apparently the hull is cracked on both sides, the skeg's gone and the rudder is also damaged. That's just what can be seen on the outside. There must be more damage inside.

Call me suspicious:

1.) He has his vessel on a course that no sailor would steer yet correctly navigated the 1000 mile journey to this place.
2.) When approaching the surf line he doesn't hear the surf which would be considerable in 30 knot winds.
3.) No photo evidence of stern anchors deployed to prevent the grounding or evidence of any attempt to control it.
4.) He signs away the rights to his boat in exchange for it's recovery without engaging a local attorney.

Could it be that the captain decided his sailing days had come to an end?

Is it just me or does this not pass the smell test?

Well I dont know about all that conjecture Cat...but it is possible his age did affect many judgments right up to the actual grounding..At 51 I have to admit Im not as clear thinking as I was 20 years ago either..and I think this gentlemen has a couple years on me.

When I was 17 my dad backed down our driveway and right into my 52 Chevy PU parked not 25' behind him and took out a whole quarter panel...I did not understand how on earth someone could be so poor of a backer...

In the last couple years, now my dads age then..I have noticed I dont back up to straight a line any more either and put our van in the ditch off my own driveway last week in our snow storm...
I think I am about to be a lot more tolerant of my daughters goof ups driving from here on out..

You guys on this thread are a tough audience. I must remember to carry some dark brown bags with me when I sail. If you ever see a guy standing next to a grounded catamaran with a bag over his head eating a bacon and cheese whiz sandwich you will know it's me!

Forget the bag as we'll never see you.

Just jump off the bow and explain that you just didn't feel like wrestling with the dinghy davits and decided to beach the cat. Heck I do it all the time just to confuse the mono guys!!

Repeat After Me....

Your position FIX INTERVAL should be no more than 1/2 the time it would take to reach the nearest shoal water.........
