From UK to Langkawi

Hello all,

A crew of five and I intend to sail from UK to the island of Langkawi next year, setting sail around May. The boat is a Beneteau 461.

Does anybody have any advice, tips or any other help for us. For instance where best to moor up, where to avoid, what charts are best, visa/permission problems or traps for seamen.

I'm an experienced coastal sailor but have not done anything of real distance.

We're not in a rush and as yet undecided on the Med and Red Sea with all its problems, or via Cape Town.

We are hoping to involve Help for Heroes on this as expedition adventure for injured military personnel as we are ex military ourselves.

Anything will help
