Atlantis discovered!

But no Navioinics "recommended" route there - yet

"A small, sunken continent was recently discovered beneath the Indian Ocean. The ancient mini-continent, called Mauritia, lies beneath the lava flows that created the islands of Reunion and Mauritius."

Not to be used for Navigational Purposes

Re: Atlantis discovered!

I would be very cautious about trusting the Navionics charts between Baltica and Siberia.... Just Sayin'....

Fairly accurate if you were cruising there 160 million years ago.

Re: Atlantis discovered!

David, the most recent archeological discovery which coincides with all written accounts of Atlantis has been found in Southern Spain. National Geographic filmed a very interesting report on the site.

Re: Atlantis discovered!

David, I think that chart is out of date. Maybe even pre-Captain Cook.

Yea... But most of this data would be pre leadline, with stones and vines... Bottom data would be sketchy at best....

PS: Looks like Congo blew their chance to be a world power player...

Re: Atlantis discovered!

Some of you people are being idiots and are going to go hard aground. I took the opportunity to input the route into my chartplotter for the autopilot to follow! One must learn to navigate based on the data available in order to be safe. Thanks David!

Remember, no chart company can maintain 100% survey accuracy all the time. Natural events are constantly changing the features.
