Reminds me of the Y2K thing a few years back...looked out the porthole when I woke up and Boot Key harbor was still there, but the rum bottle was mysteriously empty.

My birthday is on the 22nd so I am not very impressed with whoever decided to end the world the day before. Who do I complain to?

Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

My desk calendar ends every year on December 31. Terrible things happen at that day: People get drunk, stay out late, meet their friends, eat too much, and burn fireworks. I survived every time through careful preparation: meeting with friends, buying enough food, champagne and fireworks. I’m planning like this for December 31 2012 too. The usual mayhem will happen at the usual time. What can one Mayan calendar mean compared to millions of desk calendars around the world?

I think a gang of desperate people would do whatever itbtakes to survive. Better buy your guns now...

Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

Maybe the apocalypse IS being a liveaboard, then you are living the lifestyle already, so are immune from the zombie virus!

No need to plan, you are already there. Can sure feel like it some days.

Nothing like a good apocalypse to bring out the GUNS! Now this thread should really take off.

Re: Apocalypse..any plans?

I used to live near a military air base..and in the old Cold War times...we were told there'd be a 4 minute warning before we got nuked....!...and so "guys" used to joke about what they'd spend their last 4 mins doing ( with nearest girl)....older men used to comment " Trouble is, making it last for 4 minutes". Even worse now, with this Mayan thing...now we need to go at it all day! Whew.
