Those Google Ads

The Google advertisement links contained within posts are quite an irritation. Makes me disinclined to participate. This site has become too commercial.

It's a business; either the ads pay or we do. And I definitely wouldn't participate if the latter was the case. Maybe play with the remote?

This site has become a "woman's magazine" where the majority of the content is advertisements. Meanwhile, I'm out of here. Someone please send me a personal message when this has stopped. The insertion of advertisements into the individual messages is a step too far!

Let's see. Running this forum requires software, not free. Server space, not free. Large user base so pretty good bandwidth available for good speed, not free. Unlimited use of the system, free.

I'm sure if you want to pay a subscription fee to use the forum or, even better, pay for all the costs to run the forum so the rest of us can use it for free, then something can be done about those nasty ads.

Now I'm looking for the ads because I really don't notice them much.

But I need to remember to click on one once in a while for the forum good!

I am confused (again!) I do not see any ads anywhere on this forum. Perhaps the AdBlocker I downloaded a while ago actually works?

If you are logged in you should not be seeing adwords in posts. If you are seeing lightly underlined links in posts they may be tag links. You can turn that off in your control panel. If they are adwords and you are logged in please use the Contact Us link to report which post you are seeing this in so the tech people can have a look.

I'm just now realizing I haven't seen those ads since I set things to automatically log me in when I access the site.

Good to know I can turn off the underlining as well.

Thanks for a great site guys and gals. I'm hooked.
