I am parting with my Sailtimer Wind Instruments. My loss and liberation, your gain.

1 * Sailtimer Wind Instrument RB 2019. The latest model RB. Retail price $ 549.-. It was up my mast 3 weeks, then the bearing for the Wind Cups seized and started squealing badly. Needs new bearings according to the manufacturer.

1 * Sailtimer Wind Instrument 2018. Doesn’t charge. Retail was $ 449.-I suspect a defective battery or defective solar panel. This unit never worked and was replaced by the manufacturer under warranty by the above. The unit is all sealed in epoxy, so any repair attempt would require some “slaughter”.

Both units have no mechanical damage and come with the original mounting hardware.

I am sure the RB model should be able to be fixed. According to the manufacturer it only needs a new bearing set. But I have tried now for 1 year to get this going and I am just done. I don’t want to deal with this company or product anymore. So whoever wants these instruments can have them for free.

I am currently cruising in the Philippines and shipping cost would be on the buyer/receiver. Send me a message if you want these units.

It seems to be difficult to prearrange shipping from abroad. So I'll check in the coming days what I can arrange from here.

Some additional info as requested by various parties via PM.

- both units are in the shipping box for the RB model, the box is exactly 28 cm * 24 cm * 10 cm. I have no scale handy but in sailors weight it's about the same weight as a full ;-) bottle of rum. Or 1.7 kg volume weight.

- the 2018 model will need some kind of electronic repair to get at solar module/battery(is a pretty standard batt). And that's difficult as everything is sealed in epoxy. (sorry, it really is a stupid design this way)

- the RB model will a repkacement of the cups bearing which the vendor had offered to me against warranty. I don't think anything else be the problem as it worked for 3 weeks before that. Vendor may still be willing to do that but I am not going to communicate with them any more.

- I'm going to check shipping options from here as well during the coming days but I don't have means to receive shipping cost from you so that's only a viable option if shipping from here is cheap so I can ship again some kind of future considerations.

sorry guys, I was out cruising without cell coverage and just tapped into a slow open WiFi at some resort up the hill from the anchorage.

I am cruising in Palawan/Busuanga right now.

I won't be able to ship the units before getting to Puerto Princessa some time mid March. The box is sitting here ready to go.
I'll be private messaging the two first interested parties to confirm in the coming days and post an update here so that there won't be any confusion.

sorry for the late response. I am quarantined in Busuanga,PH and not sure when I can start moving again with the boat. Been on my boat now for 5 weeks steady and lockdown is extended minimum to end of April.
Charles from SA has backed out so I have to check who's next in line and will ship as soon as I get a chance.
