Mooring in Emsworth, Solent UK

Hi all,

sailing in the UK is all new to me and I want to keep the costs down whilst I give it a try for 12 months. I have a Horizon 23 and believe the draft is about 1 meter, the harbour conservation team have suggested a C3 mooring in Emsworth however a friend who has his boat in Chichester marina has suggested that would be a terrible idea as I'd hardly have access to the water as I'd get "neaped". Does anyone have any experience of Emsworth (attached is the map with available moorings). I need to a) understand the real implications of the tide and how often I would definitely not be able to sail b) understand the time window I'd have either side of high tide to get in and out and c) are any of the available moorings better than others d) can anyone suggest a better location near to the A3/M3 with cheap / reasonably priced moorings with good access. I'm sure this will raise a few eyebrows but any guidance or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks Gary
