Good point. I did that in my install. Ordered a cable 1 ft longer than the original and changed the routing a bit to give better access to the port side of the engine.

Since there are so many different lengths might be tricky to find the exact cable in stock but West certainly sells them. I ordered mine online from Defender Industries.

Exactly. None of the boat builders makes their own cables. Just like the engines, the builder buys them from a company that specializes like Teleflex-Morse.
