There is something else. And you might take all this to a sailmaker too for ideas. But if you extend the boomkin, you could experiment with a longer boom and a mainsail with a longer foot, before...

OK, though I find it hard to believe a builder would let a boat out the door that is so poorly balanced, I think it may be time to think of moving the mast.

Yeah that's the goofy thing the article points out, and it is kind of counterintuitive. But the CLR moves forward according to the article. But there has to be more to it than that because otherwise...

If it is the first one out of the mold then the mast placement may be the issue and those that followed had it placed differently. Something you can try, and I have not done this but heard of it...

I would like to see a photo of the main when its up. Is the main old? Is it the right size? Could it be that the topping lift might have been forgotten to be released, keeping the boom from coming...

I would echo psk , given the nature of the hull, the CLR, center of lateral resistance, is not moved too much by moving weight around BUT the mast rake will make a difference. AND it may be that the...
