Re: Raymarine E120 bizarre issue.

Do you have NMEA2000 or Seatalk NG (those are the same) or the old Seatalk HS or NMEA0183?

Yes, I’m not expecting anything from Raymarine, it’s old kit and not supported. The now defunct support...

Re: Raymarine E120 bizarre issue.

I haven’t done a factory reboot. Yet. My concern was that a reboot would take the firmware back to an old version. I don’t have access to a CF card of the correct size to be able to install an...

So, the mfd wasn’t showing the chart. AIS info was there, radar overlay was there but no chart detail. I have had this before and removing the card, blowing some contact cleaner on the pins and...

Thank you. That’s very helpful and has a satisfying logic to it. Cheers.

Splicing different diameter double braid

I’ve searched high and low for this but not found exactly what I’m looking for.

I would like to join double braid ropes in an end to end splice but with two ropes of different diameter.

Can...

Re: Voltage drop during charging

It’s the voltage that drops from its initial high. Current stays up.

I’m wondering if it’s a property of the battery acceptance. Initial charge to the plates shows as higher surface charge on the...

Voltage drop during charging

Hi
I’ve noticed that when charging under engine I often see a voltage at the batteries of 14.6 / 14.7 early on in the charging, but this 10 minutes later is down to 14.4. And I don’t understand why...

Question Elastic as mainsail slide attachment

I only became aware of this as a possibility a couple of days ago when I saw it on a friends catamaran. It was as standard with his elvestrom supplied main and low friction cars.

I’m about to put...

Re: Balmar SG-200 Battery Monitor

Re: Balmar SG-200 Battery Monitor

Is anyone else having issues with the alerts on the SG200?
The default for the high current seems to be 80amps.
I’ve reset it to 150amps but it just ignores this and alerts any charge current 80...

Re: What is this and what does it do?

Look like insulators. To enable standing rigging (usually backstay) to be used as an antenna for a HF radio.

I can’t help with the figures for temperature as we don’t have the means to measure that on our FP 4000s.

But, as the coolant flush is...
