Re: perkins 4.018 40 hp engine randomly reving up 100rpm
I have a similar Westerbeke 4-108. In the past 10 years, the 3 times my revs were erratic was caused by a clogged fuel filter. I'd be curious as to your ultimate fix. Keep us posted. Andy |

Re: How Much 80 Grit Sand Paper
Austin, I think you're going to wear yourself out with a pole sander. I would invest in a good random orbit disc sander. 80 grit paper may be a little fine if you have a lot of paint to remove. Bulk... |

Re: Can someone talk me off the ledge?
I don't know the boat but, sounds like your toerail screws are hitting something or bottoming out on something solid like an aluminum or ss plate under the deck. What kind of screws came out of the... |

Re: Is your boat part of your Doomsday Plan?
A possible escape (however rare) off the island I live on, is enough justification for me to own a (cruising) boat. All other use is a bonus! We've been cut off from the mainland before. In a more... |

Re: West Florida Coastline: Looking property w/Deep Canals
One key phrase to use in an online search in south Florida is "sailboat access" which simply means 'no low bridges' to obstruct your rig. It is not an indication of water depth. |
