Re: Difficulty of repairing side deck delamination and bulkhead decay
Thanks Jedi. Asking price just over 50k. I know, no one can really tell the price and I am not trying to offend the seller with low ball offer. However, needing bulk head repair and... |

Re: Difficulty of repairing side deck delamination and bulkhead decay

Difficulty of repairing side deck delamination and bulkhead decay
Hello I am looking at a gemini and am very interested in proceeding. However, the surveyor told me that there is possible delamination in the side deck - sounded dull but wasn't able to get... |

Re: Gemini 105 catamaran
I spoke to the owner and he said that it is a cosmetic cover that goes over the bridge deck and hull corner to reduce slapping. Like fjd3 said above. Apparently it is not structural per owner. I will... |

Re: Gemini 105 catamaran

Gemini 105 catamaran
Hi all I am looking to buy an older gemini cat. I saw the stuff that shows in the images where the bridge deck meets the hulls. It feels like caulking to touch. Is that supposed to be there... |

Re: No boat is perfect but!!
Thanks boatpoker. So, if I understood correctly, it is when the layers and layers of resin/fiberglass separates from something like foam or plywood underneath. However, how does that work on a boat... |

Re: No boat is perfect but!!
I spoke to the seller and none of the problems were fixed and he didn't seem to be aware of the amount of problems it has!! He did sound like he knows fair amount about boats - perhaps knows a lot... |

Re: Looking for a boat construction space in Central Florida
Don't see it as a downer. Partnership in this case is my wife and I but you are right. It is more my thing than her's and in this case she is more of an innocent bystander. An used Wharram sounds... |

Re: No boat is perfect but!!
LOL. No, asking price was not much less than similar sized boats in the market, obviously I wouldn't be able to compare with other boats as I don't know their condition. |

Re: No boat is perfect but!!
Indeed. It's been a learning experience - I thought blisters are only a cosmetic issue - I guess it depends on the size/depth and extent!! |

Re: Looking for a boat construction space in Central Florida
@MicHughV I agree wholeheartedly. My last project of a dinghy took a lot longer than I expected. However, it is hard to find a catamaran that is capable of off shore under a 100k. That is the... |

Thanks Networker. My experience in boat repair is minimal. I am fine painting, fixing wood work, small fiberglass repairs etc but this looks like a project well above my capacity. As much as I love... |
